Professor Jaime Miranda, MD, MSc, PhD, FFPH
As the head of the Sydney School of Public Health at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health, Professor Jaime Miranda is a distinguished figure in public health research. With a rich academic and professional background, he has become an influential voice in the epidemiology and health policy of chronic non-communicable diseases, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
Before his appointment in Sydney, Professor Miranda was a Full Professor at the Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, and the founding Director of the CRONICAS Center of Excellence in Chronic Diseases at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru. His research primarily addresses global health issues such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and mental health in vulnerable populations.
